As some of you know, I previously owned STR Designs. I made handmade cosmetic and travel bags. One of our bedrooms housed all of my sewing and office equipment. Finally I decided to take the plunge and begin interior design courses this summer. Immediately I knew this was the right fit. Eventually that lead me to saying goodbye to my office and hello to our kids new room. Shockingly they choose to share a room, so we went with it!
Here are some before photos of the room. Please don't judge the mess!!!
This is how all of the bedrooms looked when we first moved in. Thankfully everything was pretty neutral. When we first moved in we replaced the flooring and trim since the carpet had seen better days.
The room as my office:
Now as the kids room:
This was such a fun project to do! I love working on kids room. I find there is a fine line between too kid-ish and too sophisticated. I made sure the kids had their input in each step along the way! I was also able to incorporate some of the things from my own childhood. My grandmother's needlepoint artwork and my mom made a replica of an ABC chart that I had as a child. It's so special to be able to share that with my children.
